Three of my four-legged kids...
These are my Boxers... Terrapin is 11 years old - she was the runt of the litter, and is very small for a boxer - but she thinks she's 100 ft. tall. She is the QUEEN of the house! She's on the left. McGwire is 5, and weighs 105 lbs. He's my big, gentle giant. He loves his Mommie and always wants to be by her. For being so huge, he's very careful and tender. He even kisses softly. He has the dog-equivalent of the same disease I do: Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). He's in the middle. Then, there's Keats. He's McGwire's brother/litter-mate. He's like a dingaling teenager... he acts like he needs ritalin. He is cute, quirky and generally a spaz. You'd never believe he and McGwire are brothers - they are light years apart. He's on the right.
When we were first married, my wife would never let us have a dog. She wasn't into animals. She had only been around outside animals and they would always smell or be dirty, so she really didn't know the joy of having an indoor pet that was clean and needed to be with you. We finally got a little Boston Terrier named Cricket when we'd been married for around 8 years. Cricket ended up being the love of her life. She now says that she couldn't live without animals. Her dream is to own a farm where we could have a herd of all kinds of dogs, a flock of cats, and anything else that came along - maybe a horse or two. She has really come around. Now, every night Terrapin (on the left) sleeps right between us - under the covers, with her head on our pillows. McGwire TRIES to get under the covers, but he's just too big. But, he'll come up and practically lay on top of my wife and give her gentle kisses and loves until she has to kick him off the bed. Keats? He sleeps on the couch. Always has. He's never wanted to be in bed with us. And that's ok... because between Terrapin and Simon (my Bostie) there's barely enough room for us!
This is me... Take it or leave it.
