Another Stellar Example of TWISTIANITY... LDS-Style

I've never used this forum for this kind of post before... though I doubt very much that anyone who reads my blog doesn't know where I stand. I saw this in the Salt Lake Tribune the other day, and haven't been able to get it out of my mind since. I've never seen a better case of "spin" being applied to anything in my life... even in the shady, low-down world of national politics! I couldn't let it be... I had to let SOMEONE know they were being deceived! So, once more, I've chosen to take up the challenge and run to the aid of truth behind the Zion Curtain.

This is Mike Huckabee... he's running for President of the United States. Recently there was quite a flap because Mr. Huckabee asked an "innocent" sounding question when being interviewed about his opponent, Mitt Romney. Mike said, "Don't the Mormons believe the Jesus and Satan are brothers?" Come on Mike! You're a Southern Baptist. There is no group on the face of the planet, save the Mormons themselves, that know more about Mormon theology, doctrine, and practice! If that was an attempt to shoot from the hip and be underhanded about it at the same time, and sound innocent, YOU FAILED!

THIS is Mitt Romney. He is, perhaps, the most deceptive candidate running for President of the United States this year. If ever there was a person who should NOT be President, it's good ol' Mitt! From a strictly integrity point of view, he lacks any shred of it! He goes on National Television to "settle, once and for all the questions about my religion and whether or not it will affect my Presidency should I be elected..." Showing his immediate and true colors as a slick politician, he did neither. He neither settled questions about his religion - in fact, he pretty much avoided it all together, and he neither talked about how it would affect his presidency. He strung together a bunch of garbage about how HE thinks religion is good, and it's American as apple pie... Well, THAT'S true... but he still said NOTHING of substance, and he certainly didn't answer a thing about Mormonism. Well, getting back to the point, when Mr. Huckabee asked what he did, Mr. Romney in classic LDS spin-doctoring, never addressed the question, but pouted because, "BOO HOO," he was being persecuted. WHAAA. Cry me a river buddy. All he could claim was that Mr. Huckabee was being "un-American" to attack his faith. WAIT A MINUTE! Where is there an attack? He asked a question! (Granted, it was one he knew the answer to, and one that Romney knows the answer to as well!) Mr. Romney? You and I both know, as does every member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, that it is a core doctrine of the LDS Church that Jesus and Satan are brothers! What it boiled down to is this: Admitting so would show the voting American public, that Mormonism is indeed, an organization that falls WELL OUTSIDE the bounds of Christianity. And THAT fact would hurt your election chances.

Well, Mr. Huckabee apologized to poor Mr. Romney for hurting his feel-bads, and the press had a heyday with it all. The following is a statement from the LDS Church published in the Salt Lake Tribune (just one of ALL of the newspapers they own in Utah) last weekend:
"Like all Christians, we believe Jesus is the divine Son of God. Satan is a fallen angel. As the Apostle Paul wrote, God is the Father of all. That means that all beings were created by God and are his spirit children. Christ, however, was the only begotten in the flesh, and we worship him as the Son of God and the Savior of mankind."

Now, is it just me, or does ANYONE else see the problems inherent with this statement? What the ...?!?!! Since when did the LDS Church start teaching this blather? This isn't what their scriptures say! This isn't what the all-knowing, all-holy brethren used to say! This isn't what I grew up being taught! This isn't the truth is what this isn't! Well, wait a minute, yes it is... and no it isn't. You see, it's not what's being said, it's what has been twisted, omitted, tweaked, and distorted-that's the problem. Let me share. I'll take this quote apart, piece by piece, line by line, and share with you what the LDS Church teaches - from their OWN books... and then you'll understand why this is such an affront to any Bible-believing, Jesus-loving, Born Again Christian on this planet.

To begin with, let's start at the beginning: "Like all Christians, we believe Jesus is the divine Son of God..." This is an obvious attempt to engender the Mormon Church into the public eye as a "mainstream" Christian Church, and, while this statement is generally accepted as true amongst real believers, it holds absolutely no water once a complete understanding of the Mormon definitions of WHO Jesus is has been obtained.

"Satan is a fallen angel.."Again, this statement sounds true - until the full and open teaching of the Mormon Church becomes apparent. "Angel" to a Mormon, is any disembodied human - either before they come to earth (pre-existence), or one who had already died. Because Satan's rebellion took place before he was able to come to earth and obtain a body, he was denied this "blessing" - as were all of those who followed him in rebellion. So, Satan is a "fallen angel" only because he was cast out before he could obtain a body and be tested here on earth and prove himself worthy to return. Being a pre-existent spirit-being put him on equal footing with Jesus Christ before he came to the earth as a babe in the manger. And because he was created by God (as was Jesus Christ according to this distressing statement) he can rightfully be considered the "spirit sibling" or "brother" of Jesus Christ. Which also makes you and I - in fact ALL mankind - equal siblings with both Jesus Christ and Satan.

"As the Apostle Paul wrote, God is the Father of all..." This is indeed true! But a very sneaky and sly pre-qualifier for the statement which follows it, because it places Jesus Christ in the low rank of having been simply created. "That means that all beings were created by God and are his spirit children..." Knowing that Jesus Christ IS God - one of the three beings in the Biblical Trinity - will protect most from this pernicious lie. The bible openly declares that all things were created by, for and through Jesus Christ. (Colossians 1:15-17). More importantly however, is the fact that the bible openly declares that Satan was created as well! In Ezekiel 28:13 it says, "Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created." Let's see, that would make the score Jesus Christ (God), Creator = 1, Satan, Created being = ZERO

"Christ, however, was the only begotten in the flesh..." In other words, Jesus is the only product of God's (Elohim) incestuous sexual encounter with one of his own "spirit daughters" - Mary, rather than the offspring of the Holy Spirit's moving on one of God's creations, as is expressed in the Holy Bible. Both Brigham Young and Oliver Cowdry declared that Jesus was begotten in the same and like manner as any other man.

"...we worship him as the Son of God and the Savior of mankind."
This statement is also deceptive in total. In that a primary doctrine of the Mormon Church is that those adherents of the church who are able to keep all of the LDS commandments, pay a full and verified tithe, keep the Church's unique dietary laws, called "The Word of Wisdom", accept and "magnify" their callings (or jobs) in the Church, were sealed in the temple, and were deemed worthy by an appropriately appointed Priesthood representative, not to mention keeping "all of the commandments of the Lord," and blindly and obediently sustain "the brethren" and the current "prophet", they would be found worthy to become gods themselves. Sadly, at that time, Jesus Christ, and even God, or Elohim, take a back seat to their own glory an deity. Of note here is the fact that Jesus Christ is "a god" among gods - and was able to do so without fulfilling any of the alleged requirements of the "only true church on earth."

In truth, the bottom line is this: IF the LDS Church is the only true church on this earth - as they will tell you, then why can't they simply tell the truth? If they believe that Jesus Christ and Satan are brothers, then why not tell the truth, and simply let the chips fall where they may? Did you ever once see Jesus Christ putting a spin on something he said so as to not appear to be contrary? No, never. If the LDS Church teaches that their primary aim in their faith is to become gods, why not say so, and let the chips fall where they may? The only reason they don't is because they know that if they were truly honest, they would be seen as the Christian Cult that they are - and not only that, Romney would be seen as an adherent to a church that teaches twisted doctrines of man for truth. In other words, they have more to lose by telling the truth, than by lying just a little to seem to be more than they are.

Recent instruction delivered to LDS personnel associated with the Church Education system demanded that they not tell the whole truth if it wasn't "faith promoting." In other words, it's completely acceptable to lie for the Lord as long as it's helpful to the cause of the church. Only an organization built on deception and lies needs to continue the practice. If that doesn't put a sickening taste in your mouth, nothing else will.

No wonder Romney didn't answer. No wonder the church has to lie. What person in their right mind would believe them if they didn't?
